Who We Are

Washington & Jefferson College, located in Washington, Pennsylvania, is a historic liberal arts college, founded in 1781. At W&J, we value ethical leadership, professional readiness, and inclusive communities. Our highly customized and intellectually engaging student experience develops professionals of uncommon integrity to lead in an ever-changing world.

Under the guided expertise of faculty and professional development advisors, students take the lead in creating their own educational journey that includes two areas of academic study, one-of-a-kind pre-professional experiences, and unique travel opportunities funded by the college.

W&J students are on-the-go beyond the classroom: competing on one or more of our 26 NCAA Division III athletic teams, taking up leadership positions on one or more of our 80+ clubs and organizations, and building close-knit community in their residence halls and through fun student activities.

W&J is where changemakers get their start.
